SCHOOL CRIBS A Phenomenological Examination of the Challenges Single Student Mothers Experience to Manage Their Dual Roles

The phenomenological experiences of five single mother students at a university in Negros Occidental, Philippines, are the basis for this qualitative study. They were chosen based on inclusion requirements (a) that they ordinary college enrolled university, (b) least 18 years old when gave birth, and (c) no nanny was caring child (d) has one child. In gathering information, semi-structured interviews done. obstacles these young mothers face while pursue their higher education examined Lichtman's' thematic analysis used to analyze data. Results revealed four themes: need extra time balance studying parenting, uncertainty, failure meet academic obligations, benefits being student. Therefore, it can be concluded student with dual roles experienced many difficulties, including depression. school should establish support group juggling both lessen feelings loneliness other anxiety.
